A Tale of Two Cities

Beginning with some of the most famous opening lines in all of English literature, this masterful work by Dickens may take a little more time to read because of the long and layered sentences in 19th century language, but it is worth the effort and gives the best pay-off at the end. Set during the turbulent years of the French Revolution with characters traveling back and forth between London and Paris, it is a tale of love, injustice, sacrifice, and social change.
